The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a refreshed version of the original L10s Ultra. It comes with a few improvements, such as a much stronger suction power and an extending mop to clean corners and along baseboards. However, unlike the first generation, this model is designed to be affordable. It combines most of the latest advancements in robotic cleaning, while dropping the bells and whistles of higher-end models.
It’s similar to the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat, but comes without hot water cleaning. If that’s not essential to you, it’s a compelling option to autonomously look after your floors, with minimal human intervention.
In this detailed review, let’s explore how it measures up against other models, such as the Roborock Qrevo S, but also higher-end models.

Elegant design
Dreame is known for crafting visually appealing robotic vacuums, and the L10s Ultra Gen 2 maintains that tradition. Its sleek design very closely mirrors the aesthetic of the first generation L10s Ultra, maintaining its premium feel.
The base station features a tall, space-saving design. Water tanks are accessed via a top flap, keeping them discreet yet easy to reach. The front sports a clean white panel, with a silver-accented cover that hides the dust bag and detergent tank. The washboard and baseplate are detachable, making them easier to clean.

The robot itself is circular, featuring a LiDAR sensor dome on top and three control buttons. The dustbin and HEPA filter are located Beneath the top flap.
The L10s Ultra Gen 2 comes with an extending mop, allowing it to clean corners and along baseboards effectively, just like most flagship robovacs.

It includes a pre-installed bristleless brush for general cleaning and can also be equipped with an optional TriCut brush. The latter reduces hair tangling while still maintaining efficient dust collection.
The build quality feels solid, with sturdy plastics that should resist scratches, ensuring this vacuum holds up well over time.
User-friendly and simple app
The Dreamehome app remains one of the most intuitive and user-friendly ones.
During mapping, the robot automatically segments your home into different rooms. However, it doesn’t intelligently recognize them based on furniture, meaning you have to manually rename them. After the map is generated, you can rename, split, or merge rooms, create virtual boundaries, and assign unique cleaning settings to each area. The robot can store up to four maps, which is perfect for multi-level homes.

The L10s Ultra Gen 2 also comes with the Clean Genius AI feature, which intelligently adjusts cleaning settings. It can fine-tune the suction power and mop moisture depending on the surface it’s cleaning. However, unlike some other Dreame models, the Clean Genius mode doesn’t feature a multi-spectrum dirt-sensing tech, which would have allowed it to automatically identify soiled areas to remop them.
You can also control cleaning settings manually, including suction strength and mop dampness. Additionally, you can set custom cleaning sequences or instruct the robot to vacuum before mopping.

For carpets, you can configure how the robot interacts with them. The robot can lift the mop when crossing, avoid carpets entirely, or even cross them with the mops down. You can also adjust the mop extension and side brush settings, and automate detergent addition.
For voice control, the robot is compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, offering seamless integration with smart home setups. Sadly, it doesn’t come with a built-in voice assistant like some other models do.
However, unlike other recent Dreame models, this one offers limited customization options. For instance, you can’t adjust the obstacle detection settings, which was possible on earlier models. Also, the robot doesn’t plot obstacles on the map, which is particularly disappointing, as most other Dreame robovacs do that.
Lastly, since the robot lacks an onboard camera, it can’t act as a home monitoring device. Similarly, it’s not able to take pictures of obstacles it encounters to plot them on the map.
Vacuuming efficiency
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 comes with an impressive 10,000Pa suction power, placing it among the top-performing vacuums in its category.
This high suction power ensures excellent results on both hard floors and carpets. It effectively picks up dirt and handles corner cleaning with the help of its extendable side brush. Even in its lowest suction setting, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 can lift and collect dirt from hard floors. When it detects a higher dirt concentration, the Clean Genius AI automatically ramps up the suction for more thorough cleaning.

On carpets, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 automatically increases its suction to deeply penetrate the fibers, extracting dust and debris effectively. It can also raise its mop pads when vacuuming carpets, preventing any unwanted wetting of rugs. A dual roller brush like on some Roborock models would have been even more effective on carpets. However, this would have been a bit much to ask from a model at this price.
While the L10s Ultra Gen 2 offers strong vacuuming performance, it does lack some advanced features seen in flagship models. For example, it doesn’t have a robotic side mop that extends to clean corners more effectively. However, it still delivers excellent cleaning results, making it a highly capable option despite not having these premium extras.
Effective mopping performance
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 mops well. It effectively removes most stains, though it lacks hot water mop washing. It uses detergent and room-temperature water to clean floors, which works well for most everyday spills and grime.

![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-8-1024x768.jpg)
The robot performs well on typical surfaces but may struggle with tougher ones, like greasy or dried messes. Also, since the robot can’t intelligently recognize heavily soiled zones, it doesn’t automatically trigger a second pass for impeccable results.
The mop extension feature allows one of the mop pads to extend, ensuring it thoroughly cleans edges and baseboards. The robot automatically adjusts the extension based on the area, but you can also set it to extend on every pass.
Reliable navigation and decent obstacle detection
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 navigates efficiently, moving seamlessly from one room to another and reliably returning to its charging station after cleaning.
![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-9-1024x768.jpg)
Obstacle detection is also dependable. The L10s Ultra Gen 2 approaches obstacles closely, but lacks an onboard camera to precisely identify them. This allows it to sense objects that may appear during its cleaning cycle, helping the robot to avoid them effectively. However, it may occasionally bump into some or miss smaller ones, like cables. Surprisingly, the obstacle detection settings are not customizable, meaning you have to go with the default ones.
Quiet operation with long battery life
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 operates relatively quietly, though it is slightly louder than competitors like the Roborock Qrevo S. While the noise levels are not disruptive during activities such as watching TV or working, the maximum power mode is noticeable. However, this higher noise level is only necessary when deep-cleaning carpets, where the robot’s suction is at its strongest.
![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-10-1024x768.jpg)
The battery life is impressive, lasting more than 200 minutes on a single charge, which is enough to cover an area of 150 square meters. When the battery runs low, the robot automatically returns to its base to recharge and resumes cleaning right where it left off, ensuring no areas are missed.
Easy maintenance, with some limitations
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is relatively easy to maintain, thanks to its large water tanks, which reduce the frequency of refills and emptying. An optional water connection kit is available, allowing for fully automated refills, further reducing the need for manual intervention. Additionally, the detergent tank means you don’t have to add cleaning solution with every water refill, making daily maintenance almost unnecessary.

![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-6-1024x768.jpg)
The robot comes equipped with rubber brushes that effectively limit hair tangling, simplifying routine care. The bristleless brush minimizes the need for frequent detangling, improving overall cleaning efficiency.
While the L10s Ultra Gen 2 doesn’t feature hot water mop cleaning, it does a solid job of maintaining the mop pads during and after each cleaning cycle. The dock cleans the pads, but without the benefit of hot water or scrapers to handle tough grime, which means some manual intervention is needed for heavily soiled mops. The station also dries the mops with hot air, which helps prevent mildew, bacteria, and odors, ensuring the pads are ready for the next cleaning session.

![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-4-1024x768.jpg)
The dock itself is functional, but cleaning it can be a bit more challenging compared to models with scrapers. Fortunately, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 does include a removable baseplate, which makes it easier to wash and clean out in a sink. Also, a dedicated cleaning mode fills the baseplate with water. It then asks you to brush it, before draining the soiled water.
Is the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 the right robovac for you?
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 strikes an excellent balance between advanced cleaning performance and affordability. With its powerful suction, reliable obstacle detection, and MopExtend feature for cleaning corners and edges, it offers a robust cleaning experience without some of the premium extras found in higher-end models.
![](https://smarthomecritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Dreame-L10s-Ultra-Gen-2-1-1024x768.jpg)
It does lack a few advanced features from high-end models. These include hot water mop washing, a robotic side mop, and a self-cleaning dock. However, its overall performance, both for vacuuming and mopping, makes it a solid contender in the mid-range robotic vacuum category.
For those who don’t need features like hot water mop cleaning and favor a budget-friendly option, the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a compelling choice for maintaining clean floors with minimal intervention.
