While notorious for its security cameras, EZVIZ also makes plenty of other smart home products, including robovacs. The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is the brand’s most advanced, combining vacuuming and mopping features thanks to a multifunctional dock.
However, with fierce competition from brands like Roborock, Dreame, and Ecovacs, the RS20 Pro lacks some advanced cleaning tech. Indeed, without extending mop pads or hot water for mop washing, it falls behind most recent models.
In this detailed review, let’s see how it performs and whether it’s worth considering against models from market leading competitors.

Good
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro combines efficient vacuuming and mopping with smart home integration. Its 7,200Pa suction and anti-entanglement design make it ideal for pet owners and hard floors. The multifunctional dock dispenses detergent automatically, while the built-in camera offers excellent obstacle detection and home monitoring. However, it lacks hot water mop washing and extendable mop pads, limiting its mopping effectiveness. Its suction power may also be limited if you have hhick carpets at home. It's a good robot for daily cleaning, but lacks some of the latest cleaning improvements the competition offers.

Premium design
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro boasts a premium design, with a relatively bulky docking station. The two water tanks are directly accessible from the top, with the dust bag concealed beneath a cover. The RS20 Pro also comes with a detergent cartridge that’s placed under the dirty water tank, allowing for automatic detergent dispensing. There are three quick access buttons on the right that let you start or pause a cleaning cycle, recall the robot to its dock, or start a customized cleaning scenario. However, their design, coupled with the protruding one of the water tanks, somehow make the dock look like a printer. The rest of the dock is quite basic, with only the logo on the front side, and a basic baseplate with no removable washboard.
The robot comes in a traditional circular shape, with a top-mounted LiDAR dome. At the front, it features an RGB camera for obstacle sensing, as well as remote video monitoring. On the underside, it comes with two rotating mops, together with two side brushes, and a bristled brush roller with a built-in blade system, similar to the tricut brush on the Dreame L40 Ultra. The RS20 Pro doesn’t come with liftable or extending mop pads. However, it’s able to detach them and leave them in the dock when vacuuming, which is handy when vacuuming carpets.
The overall build quality is good, with both the robot and the dock feeling sturdy. However, there were traces of glue in the baseboard, and stickers on the dock that were coming off.
Basic app with few customization options
You can control the RS20 Pro using the EZVIZ app, which is the same one for all EZVIZ products. Unfortunately, the app itself isn’t very intuitive, and is sometimes slow and unresponsive.
During the first use, the robot generates a map of your house, which you can then edit. You can merge or split rooms, rename them, and create no-go zones and invisible walls.
The app also lets you adjust some of the settings, including the cleaning parameters. You can choose between vacuum or mop modes, as well as vacuum while mop, and vacuuming while mop options. You can also adjust the suction power and water volume, either globally or specifically for each room.
Also, while the robot doesn’t come with an extending side mop to clean along baseboards and edges, it features an edge cleaning mode. It tilts on itself close to edges to reach as far as possible and clean edges more thoroughly. You can pick between a daily edge cleaning, or select on which days of the week it should be performed.
You can also customize more advanced settings, such as how often to empty the dust bin, or whether to automatically add detergent. Similarly, you can adjust the robot’s behavior around carpets: whether to avoid them or automatically boost the suction power when vacuuming.
There’s also a pet mode that enables the robot to navigate more carefully, but also snap pictures of your furry friend while cleaning. However, there is no option to take pictures of obstacles and place them on the map. You can use the camera for home monitoring, though, complete with two-way audio.
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is also compatible with both Alexa and Google Assistant. This allows you to control it using your existing smart speakers and screens, without having to reach for your phone.
Good vacuuming efficiency
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro comes with a 7,200Pa suction, which is enough to clean hard floors and thin carpets. The bristled roller brush is great to collect dirt from grouts, ensuring there’s no dust left behind when cleaning. The robot can also boost its suction power when vacuuming carpets, helping it suck up dirt and debris deep into the fibers. However, for thick rugs, the RS20 Pro might not be the best option. Another robovac with stronger suction power and a dual roller brush would offer better performance on high-pile carpets.
To clean corners and baseboards, the RS20 Pro comes with two side brushes. Although they can’t extend, they help direct dirt toward the suction power, ensuring properly vacuuming. However, since they’re close to the robot’s body, they don’t reach far into corners, which aren’t thoroughly cleaned.
Overall, the vacuuming results are quite good, especially on hard floors. Results aren’t as good on thick carpets, though, so another option might be more relevant.
Average mopping performance
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro washes its mop pads before, during, and after each cleaning cycle. It also comes with a built-in water tank, which allows it to continuously dampen the mop pads while cleaning. In addition, it can automatically dispense cleaning solution and mix it with water to improve cleaning results.
As a result, it does a good job refreshing lightly soiled floors, removing light stains and making them sparkle. However, it struggles when it comes to thorough cleaning., as it’s not able to remove tough and dried stains like sauce or blood. Changing the settings to two passes slightly improves the overall results, but since the robot doesn’t use hot water to wash the mop pads, it’s not as effective as some competing options. Worse, the robot doesn’t seem to notice when its built-in water tank is depleted, which results in mop pads that dry out during the cleaning cycle.
Also, because it lacks the ability to extend its mop pads, it can’t clean along baseboards and in corners as well as some other models on the market. Lastly, while it can leave its mop pads in the dock when vacuuming only, it can’t lift them when moving around. This means it wets its path on the way to the room it’s going to clean and back, which can be annoying.
Excellent obstacle avoidance, with decent navigation
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is a good navigator overall, thanks to its top-mounted LiDAR dome. However, it sometimes needs a bit of extra time to position itself, roaming around your house before it locates itself and starts cleaning. It may also follow an unusual path while cleaning, but ends up reaching its destination reliably.
Obstacle detection, on the other hand, is top-notch. The robot gets close to the obstacles on its way, sometimes even lightly touching them, while efficiently detecting them. Not only is it able to sense large ones likes shoes, boxes, and toys, it also does an outstanding jobs around cables, cleaning as close as possible to them without getting stuck or inadvertently vacuuming them.
Unfortunately, obstacles aren’t plotted on the map, so there is no way to know what blocked the robot’s path. Similarly, despite being equipped with an RGB camera at the front, the RS20 Pro doesn’t take pictures of obstacles.
A bit noisy, without being much
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is slightly louder than some competitors, but it operates at an acceptable noise level overall. While it’s not disruptive during daytime use, it may be noticeable if launched at night. Indeed, the movement of the wheels and side brushes produces a faint mechanical noise that can become annoying.
The mop cleaning process, in particular, starts with a high-pitched sound that can be bothersome, especially at night. However, the overall noise during mopping is comparable to similar models and should not be a major concern. However, the mop drying process is exceptionally quiet, making it suitable to place in a living area.
Maintenance and care
When it comes to maintenance, the EZVIZ RS20 Pro is a bit of a mixed bag. The large water tanks in the dock mean there’s little need for frequent intervention. Also, thanks to the detergent cartridge in the dock, there’s no need to manually add some when refilling the clean water tank.
However, the baseplate tends to get very dirty after a few days of usage, and since it’s non removable, cleaning it means you have to get your hands dirty, and it’s quite tough to remove all of the dirt trapped inside.. There is also no automated cleaning mode, meaning this task requires your intervention.
The robot, however, requires almost no care. Its main brush comes with built-in blades that cut hair tangles, and a self-cleaning system before each vacuuming cycle ensures no hair or debris stays trapped inside. As for the side brushes, their design also prevents most hair tangles, ensuring they perform consistently.
Is the EZVIZ RS20 Pro the right robovac for you?
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is a well-designed robotic vacuum and mop with some standout features, such as a premium build, excellent obstacle avoidance, and a multifunctional dock with automatic detergent dispensing. It performs well on hard floors and does a decent job refreshing lightly soiled areas.
However, it falls short in some key areas when compared to competitors, especially given its price point. For instance, it lacks hot water mop washing, as well as an extending mop pad or brush to clean corners and along baseboards.
If you’re looking for a robovac that handles daily cleaning reliably, the EZVIZ RS20 Pro is a good candidate. Its built-in camera provides excellent obstacle detection and doubles as a security camera. Also, its anti entanglement design is perfect for houses with pets or if you tend to loose a lot of hair.
However, products from competing brands offer more advanced options for a similar price point. If you have thick carpets, or need thorough mopping with extendable mop pads and hot water cleaning, considering looking at other options. The Roborock Qrevo Pro, Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2, and Ecovacs Deebot N30 Omni are worth looking at. They cost about the same, but offer slightly more advanced features, based on your requirements.
Ultimately, while the EZVIZ RS20 Pro is a solid all-rounder, it struggles to compete with the innovation seen competitors offers. If simplicity and a decent price-to-performance ratio are your priorities, it could still be a good fit for your home.
