The Tineco Pure One Station 5 combines a stick vacuum with a multifunctional and self-emptying dock. The latter lets the vacuum empty its dust bin into a larger one in the station, reducing the need for manual intervention. In addition, the dock also cleans the pipes and brushes, helping keep the vacuum clean after each use.
Thanks to its powerful suction and advanced cleaning tech, it’s a strong competitor against Dyson models. Compared to the Dreame Z30 we recently reviewed, it’s more affordable and comes with a feature-packed dock. However, it offers fewer accessories compared to the competition, and may feel a bit basic.
In this detailed review, let’s take a deeper look at Tineco Pure One Station 5’s features and how it scores as a daily driver.

Good
The Tineco Pure One Station 5 pairs powerful cleaning performance with the convenience of a self-emptying dock. Its ZeroTangle technology minimizes hair tangles, while a green LED light highlights dirt for thorough cleaning. With high suction power and no daily maintenance, it’s perfect for effortless floor care. However, its bulk, noise level, and lack of a crevice tool may limit its versatility. Ideal for those seeking power and convenience, but not suited for tight spaces or detailed cleaning.

A bit bulky with a dull design
The Tineco Pure One Station 5 comes in a slightly dull and bulky design, with mostly black and white plastics. The dock consists of a large tubular body, with a baseplate to store accessories. It houses a large 2.5L dust bin made out of slightly transparent black plastic, allowing you to notice if it’s full, without making the dust in the bin visible at a distance.
The vacuum’s main unit is relatively heavy and bulky. It features a large handle, with a detachable battery on the base. Surprisingly, there’s no screen on the unit, and only a small LED light located between the two buttons indicates the vacuum’s status. The two buttons let you turn the unit on and off or toggle between different cleaning modes. Another LED light, located on the battery, shows how full it is.
The vacuum comes with only two tools: a floor attachment and a motorized mini brush. The first features a green 120º LED light, which helps illuminate dirt. It uses a combination of rubber blades a harder bristles, making it perfect to capture dirt and dust. It also comes with Tineco’s ZeroTangle technology, which uses a comb to minimize hair entanglements around the roller.
The mini brush also comes with a bristled roller, but it may be more prone to tangles. Surprisingly, there is no suction or crevice tool in the box. This is particularly annoying, as you can’t use the Pure One Station 5 to clean on surfaces, in crevices, or corners and baseboards.
Excellent cleaning performance
The Tineco Pure One Station 5 does an excellent job when it comes to cleaning both hard floors and over carpets. It’s able to capture small particles and large debris effortlessly, and can automatically adapt its suction power based on the dirt levels to ensure it doesn’t leave anything behind. The LED light also changes color based on the suction power, letting you know what the system is sensing. However, since there is no screen, it’s not intuitive to know which mode you’ve selected. The button lets you toggle between Eco, Auto, and Max modes, but there’s no indication as to which one you’re using, creating some confusion while using it.
The green LED light on the floor tool makes it very easy to spot dirt, dust, and hair you might not notice. In most cases, nothing’s left after a single pass, and the Pure One Station 5 makes vacuuming floors oddly satisfying. A manual toggle on the floor tool lets you adjust it based on whether you’re vacuuming small particles or larger debris. However, I haven’t found the need to use the switch, which I think creates unnecessary confusion.
The motorized mini brush is particularly convenient to clean upholstery, and I found myself using it several times a week to vacuum my dining chairs and couch, and even my dog’s bed. However, I’ve been particularly annoyed by the lack of crevice and suction tool. It’s such a basic but useful accessory to clean dust from tables or to clean corners and baseboards. The fact that it’s missing means I had to use another vacuum to clean these surfaces and even to vacuum my stairs. You could potentially buy a spare one, but it makes no sense it’s not sold with the vacuum.
Easy to maneuver, but beware of the bulk
The Pure One Station 5 lies almost entirely flat, making it easy to clean under furniture and in hard-to-reach areas. When cleaning floors, it’s not too hard to move around, and the floor tool is flexible enough to go where you direct it. It’s thin enough to easily slide under most baseboards, but some other models come with slimmer and shorter floor tools that are even easier to maneuver.
Also, the main unit’s weight and bulk become very noticeable after a few minutes of cleaning. This is the price to pay for the high suction power and removable battery, but it’s a bit annoying if you have a large surface to clean. What’s more, the Pure One Station 5 isn’t designed to clean tight areas, as the unit’s bulk and weight make it very inconvenient. For example, if you try to vacuum inside your car, you’ll quickly give up because of these issues. It’s a shame, especially because it does a good job at vacuuming, but the weight and bulk make it slightly annoying.
Battery & noise level
The Tineco Pure One Station 5 offers about an hour of battery life. It’s enough to clean about 80 square meters, but might be a bit limited if you want to clean a large house on a single charge.
Also, the Pure One Station 5 is noticeably louder than some other models, producing about 79dB when vacuuming on standard settings. If you use it for a long time, the excessive noise might become annoying, making you feel like taking a break. Similarly, the station’s noise can be annoying, peaking at 82dB. Thankfully, it doesn’t last for long, making it more bearable.
Maintenance and care
Thanks to its self-emptying and cleaning dock, the Tineco Pure One Station 5 is particularly easy to maintain. It requires virtually no human intervention on a daily basis. When you place the vacuum back on the station, the dust bin is emptied into the station’s 2.5L container automatically. In addition, the pipes and brushes are cleaned automatically so you don’t have to.
The ZeroTangle feature does an excellent job at preventing hair from getting wrapped around the roller. It uses a comb to direct hair towards the suction port, ensuring it doesn’t stay on the brush. I’ve used the Pure One Station 5 to vacuum my dog’s hair, especially after brushing him. Despite this, I haven’t found any hair wrapped around the brush, which is simply impressive.
As for the mini brush, you may need to remove the brush and manually clear hair tangles. It’s easy to do, and takes very little time. However, Tineco could have also worked on a tangle-free brush for added convenience.
If needed, you can easily remove the different parts to clean them up. As for the station’s bin, you can easily remove it and use the trigger to empty it in the trash without spilling dust next to it. Overall, the Tineco Pure One Station 5 is particularly easy to maintain. It requires no daily care, making it intuitive to clean, without having to worry about the rest.
Is the Tineco Pure One Station 5 the right stick vacuum for you?
The Tineco Pure One Station 5 might be an excellent choice if you value high cleaning performance and convenience in your daily routine. It offers great suction power, a tangle-free brush, and no daily maintenance, making it an ideal choice. The green LED light is a thoughtful addition, helping illuminate dust and ensure a thorough clean.
However, it’s worth considering a few trade-offs. The vacuum is heavy and bulky, which might make it less suitable for frequent use in multi-level homes or to clean your car or other tight spots. It’s also quite loud and the absence of a crevice or suction tool limits its versatility.
If you can overlook the bulk and noise for its power and ease of maintenance, the Tineco Pure One Station 5 could be a great fit for you. But if you need a quieter or more compact vacuum with added tools for detailed cleaning, you may want to explore other options.
Pros | Cons |
Great cleaning performance | Heavy and bulky |
Requires no daily maintenance | Very loud |
