SwitchBot is launching four new smart home devices at CES 2025

SwitchBot is one of the leading brands in the smart home industry. It develops various gadgets to automate everyday devices, including smart locks, curtain motors, and cameras. It also makes robovacs like the S10 and K10+, which we reviewed.

At CES 2025, SwitchBot is announcing the new generation of these two robots, together with a new smart lock and a video doorbell.

The K20+ Pro is a mini robot vacuum, succeeding the K10+. Its key differentiator is its adaptable FusionPlatform, which allows it to carry objects weighing up to 8kg. The goal is to pair it with other SwitchBot devices, such as a camera, air purifier, or even a phone and tablet stand to move them around the house. As such, the brand will offer the K20+ Pro bundled with other products that work with each other. For instance, the SwitchBot 20+ works with an air purifier to move it to a specific room when a sensor detects bad air quality. Similarly, it can work with other sensors and products to generate smart automation scenarios to transport appliances and devices across rooms when needed.

For navigation, the robot uses LiDAR and laser sensors but lacks a built-in camera. SwitchBot instead wants you to attach a camera to the removable platform to use it as a home monitoring solution. This seems counter-productive, given many other robots already include cameras.

Overall, the K20+ Pro’s use cases seem a bit limited, but they could be useful for large homes where you use various SwitchBot devices.

SwitchBot S20 Pro

The SwitchBot S20 Pro is an upgraded version of the SwitchBot S10, featuring new capabilities that enhance its cleaning performance.

It retains the S10’s innovative roller, while now being able to extend it. This allows it to clean along walls and baseboards, providing greater floor coverage. A built-in scraper continuously cleans the roller during use, ensuring it stays free of dirt and debris. The redesigned side brush can now extend, allowing it to deploy and reach corners and clean along walls. Both brushes also include an anti-entanglement system, preventing hair from getting wrapped around them.

The S20 comes with a 15,000 Pa suction power, which is substantial enough to clean high-pile carpets and hard floors.

The SwitchBot S20 Pro is available with an all-in-one docking station in two configurations. One configuration features traditional water tanks, while the other includes automatic water refilling and draining capabilities. The S20 is compatible with the S10’s docking station, allowing for upgrades without replacing the existing station.

SwitchBot Lock Ultra

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra builds on the features of the SwitchBot Lock Pro, including broad compatibility with most locks and keys, while improving unlocking functionality. The motor speed has been enhanced, and the design is sleeker and more premium.

The new SwitchBot Lock Ultra offers six levels of security, including AES-128 encryption, intrusion alerts, and an automatic locking feature with an included open sensor.

The standout feature is its triple power system, which includes a rechargeable battery, a cold-weather battery, and a microelectronic supercapacitor, ensuring the lock is powered even during emergencies.

The Lock Ultra also integrates with SwitchBot’s keypad, enabling multiple unlocking methods, such as codes, fingerprints, or NFC badges. It also supports temporary codes for visitors or staff, as well as emergency ones that can trigger preset routines.

It connects seamlessly with other SwitchBot products via the SwitchBot hub and works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri.

SwitchBot Video Doorbell

The SwitchBot Video Doorbell offers 2K resolution, color night vision, and a 165° field of view. It includes intelligent motion detection and supports cloud or local storage via an SD card up to 512GB.

More importantly, it ships with a portable 4.3″ display, making it easy to use with a plug-and-play setup. The monitor also includes a built-in 100 dB chime, ensuring it can be heard throughout your home.

The display also acts as a Wi-Fi relay, maintaining a stable connection with the outdoor unit. It also optimizes energy consumption, allowing the doorbell to last up to 20 months on a single charge.
